Q: When will the soccer season start and end?
A: The SSA Recreational League season starts in May and goes until the end of July.

All divisions play 10 games. U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16/18 will compete in play-off in July (if needed).  This will be the end of the season for those divisions.

U-4, U-6, & U-8 will end the season during the week of July 28.

Q: What type of time committment is Rec Soccer?

A: U-4 plays once per week for 45 miniutes (with no practices),  U-6 through U-18 will play one game per week and hold one practice (to be scheduled by Head Coach).

Q: How do I know if I am registered?
A: After you submit your registration and payl, you will recieve a confirmation email from sports engine.


Q: Which field will the games be played on?
A: U-4 through U-8 will be at the Lincoln Fields and U-10 through U-18 play at the Kaufman Sports Complex.


Q: How do I know which division is for me or my player?

A: Age division are formed every two years.  SSA currently offers the following age divisions: Under (U)-4 , U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12, U-14 and U-16/18 . The link below will direct you to the Age Eligibility Chart.

Q: What types of Leagues does SSA offer?

A: SSA offers a Girls and COED divisions for the following divisions: U-6, U-8, U-10, U-12 and U-14 (if registration can support two leagues).  The U-4 Little Kickers program and U-16/18 is COED.

Q: When do teams play?

A: Teams will play at either 5:30pm, 5:45pm, 7:00pm, or 7:15pm once per week.  In some instances, two games may be schedule per week.  It is SSA's intention to schedule one (1) game per week for each team.  Due to a later start, the U-16/18 division may have multiple weeks with more than one game.

When would my team play? - Please check out our information packet.  On page two, you will find a chart with tentative game days for each division.  This is subject to change since it will be based on registration numbers.

Q: What is the U-4 Little Kickers Program?

A:  The U-4 Little Kickers Program is an introductory soccer program for our youngest players.

Q: When and where will the team of my child practice?
A: Coaches for each team decide when and where to have practices. SSA encourages the coaches to plan on practicing once a week, at a time when most of the team can be present. Outlying teams can practice close to where they live. U-4 does not have practices.

Q: When will your game schedule be available?
A: Game schedules will be available at the same time that team rosters are available (beginning of May).Please visit our information page.

Q: How are teams formed? Are there Negaunee or Ishpeming teams?
A: Teams are formed using many criteria, but, especially in young teams, much consideration is given to grouping players together by geographic location (where you live) or by school attended. If enough players register in the division, there will be a Negaunee team, an Ishpeming team, etc. Please see our new team formation guidlines.

Q: I have signed up for both of our children to play SSA soccer but only one of them seems to be registered. Why?

A: You need to fill out a separate online registration form for each player.
